Acceptance

By using Knot you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What Knot is

Knot is a tool to track and split shared expenses among groups. It is a record-keeping aid, not a payment processor, bank, or financial advisor. Knot does not move money. Any settlement between members happens outside the app through your own payment methods.

Your responsibilities

• Keep your login credentials secure.
• Only add other people's information (names, payment handles) where you have a legitimate reason to.
• Don't use Knot for anything unlawful, abusive, or that infringes others' rights.
• Don't attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service.

Accuracy of balances

Balances and "who owes who" figures are calculated from the data you and your group enter. We don't guarantee they are correct — always confirm amounts with your group before settling.

Availability

Knot is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. It may have downtime, bugs, or data loss. Keep your own records of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for any disputes between group members over money. Knot is a free, personal project.

Termination

You may stop using Knot and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.
